Ann (Chana) Bloomer

Edward Bloomer seems to have had a wife called Anne who he married before 1839 with whom he had a daughter Charissa Bloomer. This may be Ann Caffery (Chana Kafri) who was the mother of John and Thomas Bloomer and possibly some other children.

Ann was born in 1820. She passed away about 1853. Her father was John Caffrey aka Yehuda Kafri b.1799 d.1840 India and her mother Elizabeth (Elisheva).

She had a brother Patrick Caffrey born in 1822 and her brother Peter Caffrey was born in Cawnpore, Bengal India in 1826. Her sisters Francis Emma Caffrey b.1828 and Maria Caffrey b.1831 were also born in India. Frances married Henry Baldwin on 29 March 1843 at Meerut, Bengal India. Frances had a daughter Adelaide Elizabeth Baldwin who was born in 1845 in Meerut in India who married Francis Henry Moran who was born in Bihar, India in 1842,

2) William Bloomer b.1841 d.1881

3) Thomas Henry Bloomer b.1849 d.1917

4) Edward Bloomer b.1850 d,1897

5) John George Bloomer b.1852

Note : records in Western Australia state that Eliza Caffery was the sister-in-law of Edward Bloomer. 1867 shipping record of Tartar states Eliza was nominated by Edward Bloomer and that she was a child's maid. (see Eliza Caffery in the Western Australia, Australia, Crew and Passenger Lists, 1852-1930) She was called Elizabeth Caffrey on marriage record to Edmund W Read in 1874. (Reg. No. 3782 in Western Australia Births , Deaths and Marriages). Eliza may not have been Edward's actual sister-in-law but the niece of his first wife Ann. She was the daughter of Patrick Caffrey b.1822 a brother of Ann Caffery (Caffrey) the first wife of Edward Bloomer. She died in Victoria in 1886 (Elizabeth Ann Read).
