William Dabney was born to George Dabney I and Elizabeth his wife about 1707-10 on the Greenville farm in King William County, Virginia.

He married Anne Barrett about 1737-39, a daughter of Charles B. and Mary (Leigh) Barret/Barrett. [no: their daughter Ann was born 1744]

They had eight children: William, died young; George, born 1740; Mary, born bef 1741; Elizabeth, born abt 1744; Charles, born 1745; Samuel, born 14 Apr 1752; Robert (Robin) born 1763/64; and Susannah.
