The Toppings were NOT sons-in-law of John Cooper, the immigrant
Some genealogies show "ghost" daughters of John Cooper as married to two Topping men, apparently to account for the parents of Topping children named in John Cooper's will. The thinking being that these children are grandchildren of immigrant John Cooper from unknown daughters. Thomas Cooper II, in TAG 64:193 Oct 1989, reveals these children were GREAT grandchildren of John Cooper, the immigrant, and were grandchildren of their daughter, Ann, who married John White. Note his will was written May 6, 1662, just after the births of these great-grandchildren. The family structure, thus presented, is:
Descendants of Anne Cooper
