Ann Bevan was born in 1676 in Llantrissant, Glamorganshire, Wales, daughter of John Bevan (~1646–1726) and Barbara Aubrey (~1637–1711).

Marriage and Family

Ann (20) married Owen Roberts (19) (born on December 1, 1677 in Merionethshire, Wales; son of Hugh Roberts and Jane Owen) on March 23, 1697 in Merion Meeting, Pennsylvania. [1]

  4. Aubrey Roberts (1706–1753)
  5. Owen Roberts (died young and was buried at Merion Meeting, 7mo. 25. 1707)

From Merion in the Welsh Tract by Thomas Allen Glenn, originally published 1896:

OWEN ROBERTS, 2nd son of Hugh and Jane Roberts, born in Township of Kiltalgarth, Merionethshire, 10-month 1st. 1677; died in Philadlephia, Penna., 10-month, 1723; will dated 31 1-month, 1706; proved 1723. He married 1-mo. 23d, 1696-7, Ann Bevan, daughter of John Bevan (see Bevan). Removed from Merion to Philadlephia, decribed as "merchant"; he was High Sheriff of Philadelephia County and City 1716-23. Having been Treasurer of Philadelphia from 22 July, 1712, to 1716. Member of Common Council 1711. Member of Provincial Assembly 1711. Appointed Collector of Imposts 1716-23. His wife living in 1723.

Death

Ann died in 1726 in Welsh, Pennsylvania, aged 49.
