MARIE [Mary], bapt. May 7, 1697 in Bristol, England; d. in New Rochelle; m. Jean [John] Soulice, a baker, a native of Benet, eight miles northwest of Niort, Poitou, France, and another Huguenot settler in New Rochelle [Seacord, 1941, p.48]. He d. there Aug. 28, 1776. He was an elder or warden in the Anglican Church there in 1743 and in 1760. Their son Daniel is ancestor of the Soulices of Nova Scotia, and their son Joshua m. Susannah (Guion) Landrin (dau. of Aman Guion, son of Louis) and had Joshua Soulice Jr. (1768-1857) who m. Mary Bonnet, niece to William Schurman the Loyalist.
