When Anna Barbara Schiesser was born on 2 January 1788, in Alt St. Johann, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, her father, Fridolin Schiesser, was 29, and her mother, Barbara Kundert, was 30. She married David Knobel on 28 November 1805, in Schwanden, Glarus, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 23 March 1857, at the age of 69, and was buried in Switzerland.
