Anna was born in 1677. She is the daughter of Andrew Newcomb and Anna Bayes. [1]

Anna b. 1677; m. Lieut. Matthew Mayhew of Edgartown, b. Nov 29, 1674; resided at Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard; he d. Apr 20, 1720, and she d. Apr 16, 1723, age about 46. Tombstones at Edgartown. Mr. M was son of Matthew, grandson of Rev Thomas Mayhew, and great grandson of Governor Thomas Mayhew, the first settler of the name on Martha's Vineyard, 1642. In 1756, the children of Matthew and Anna sold their mother's interest in lands at Edgartown which belonged to her as one one of the children of Andrew and Anna (Bayes) Newcomb.
