The castle of Wijenburg in Echteld was owned by the Van Wassenaars in the eighteenth century. By marriage of the inheritance daughter, Anna Henrietta Elisabeth van Wassenaar (1788-1854) - daughter of Willem Frederik Hendrik van Wassenaar and Johanna Judith of Isselmuden - with Walraven Elias Johan Baron van Balveren (1784-1865) passed the house to the family Van Balver.
