PORTVILLE - Anne L. Dusenbury, of 65 Temple St., died peacefully in her sleep Friday (Nov. 30, 2018) at home. Born Dec. 29, 1923, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Van Wyck W. Loomis and Elizabeth Heath Loomis and grew up in Greenwich, Conn.
Anne graduated from The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr in 1941 and from Vassar College in 1945.
Anne was dedicated to the education of children serving as president of local chapters of the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities, the PTA and AFS. She served as a charter member of the Friends of the Portville Free Library and an active trustee for the Portville Historical and Preservation Society. In her spare time, Anne was an avid sailor and skier, and also enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, John Edgar Dusenbury; and her sister, Elizabeth L. Oakleaf. Burial will be in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Portville.
