About Annie Mary Shoemaker
Annie Mary Dean is a descendant of John Dean and Ann B Isett. She was born in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; the oldest of 6 children born to Aden and Hannah (Geissinger) Dean. Annie's father was a Union soldier during the Civil War in Co D, 12th infantry.
Annie Mary was married to Elisha Shoemaker 27 Dec 1888 and they farmed the Shoemaker homestead. They were the parents of 9 children. 3 year old Nettie and 1 year old Blair died in 1895 and an eight year old son James died in 1909. Their other children William, Joseph, Bessie, Blanche, Ethel and Roy "Mike" all lived to adulthood.
Annie was a member of the Baptist Church of Center Union. She died at her home 17 Mar 1950. Funeral services were held at Koch Funeral Home with the Rev G R Groninger officiating. Annie's husband died in 1944 and she was buried with him at Riverview Cemetery.
