About Aden Benedict Dean
Aden Benedict Dean was born in Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania, the 5th of 8 children born to Thomas and )Dean. As a child, his family lived near the farm of his grandparents John and Elizabeth (Corbin) Ridenour. Aden was a Civil War Soldier, enlisting 11 September 1862 as a Private in Pennsylvania's Company D 12th Infantry Regiment.
At the National House on November 30th 1865, Aden was married to Hannah Jane Geissinger, daughter of Charles & Margaret (Vandevander) Geissinger. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. H. Reid. Aden and Hannah were married over 50 years. They were the parents of 8 children: Annie Mary, Miles Grant, Charles T., John B, Vada M., Carey "Charlie", Gardie E., and Watson who died young.
In 1876 Aden was elected justice of the peace. He was a Juniata township, representative to county Republican Committee in 1883 & was elected one of the township supervisors in 1885.
Aden and Hannah were buried originally at Acker Cemetary. Their graves were moved by the US government to White Church cemetery (Jacob's Church Cemetery) in Penn Twp, Huntingdon Co., Pa in 1971 due to expansion to Raystown Lake area
