Anthony Gilderdale

Anthony's first child suggests that he was born around 1680 - too early for him to be Robert and Graces son. Given that both his and Robert's families seem to have been in Hook around 1703-4 (with Anthony marrying there in 1701), I am assuming a family relationship, and brother seems most likely. However this is largely guesswork. The children's names suggest his father was called Robert, and if there were two Roberts, both married to Graces, then the tree would have to be constructed differently. The Stephen Guilderton born in Blacktoft was the son of an Anthony Guilderton. This may be a different Anthony, however the link to Gilderdon is appealing. It should be noted than a German cutler named Anthony Gilderdon was living in London in the early 1600's. This is recorded in a list of "protestant aliens". I can't see a link to this family, but am recording this here in case evidence backs it up later on.
