FATALITY AT QUINCY
Miner Crushed Beneath Rock Sliding from Mill Yesterday.
While working on the 460-foot level of No. 6 shaft of the Quincy mine yesterday, Tony Hassen met with injuries which resulted in his death a short time later. Hassen had gone to blast some rock in the "mill" and just as he approached it, the pile loosened, and several large rocks rolled down on him, crushing him badly.
The decedent was 26 years of age, had been married about one year, and is survived by several brothers and sisters at the Quincy location besides his wife.
Coroner William Fisher of Calumet conducted an inquest late yesterday afternoon and a verdict of accidental death was returned.
