About Anton Johnson
Anton Johnson, 85, 203 Third Ave. NW, Mandan died Tuesday morning, Sep 21, 1976, in a Bismarck Hospital. Burial at Hunter Cemetery.
Born April 28, 1891 at Maribo, Lolland, Denmark, he moved to Waupaca, Wis., in 1906 and two years later settled at Hunter. He married Alice Larsen, April 11, 1917, at Fargo and continued to live at Hunter until coming to Mandan in 1927.
Mr Johnson retired in January as dairy herd improvement supervisor with Yegen Dairy. He had been employed there since 1963 and before that was headsman at the State Industrial School for 21 years.
Mr Johnson leaves his widow; three daughters, Mrs Bernice Holbert and Mrs Robert (Gloria) Feickert, both of Mandan, and Mrs Michael (Muriel) Paul, Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Sofie Sorenson, living in Denmark, and three grandchildren.
He was a secretary-treasurer of the North Dakota Holstein Breeders Association, an adopted member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and a life member of the National Dairy Shrine Club.
