Anton Kleyn (1959 - 2020)

Brief overview:

Anton (61), previously a cattle farmer, who started an instant lawn business, was shot dead in a Wendy House on a smallholding in Mooiplaats/Boschkop, outside Pretoria, on 24/11/2020, when armed perpetrators shot through the window of his home. Aubrey du Plessis (45), who was sleeping on the couch in front of the TV, was shot in the thigh. The attackers started shooting through the window at 01h15, and Anton was hit in the upper body.

Aubrey managed to drive and get help, and was taken in a private vehicle to hospital to be treated.

Capt. Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said gunmen struck at about 1:15 p.m. Police were called to the scene about three-quarters of an hour later. She also said that cases of murder and attempted murder have been opened.
