About Arabella Ann Knight

Arabella was an exceedingly bright and attractive person and a great favorite with her contemporaries. Duncan Veazey remembered her especially because of the romantic attachment formed for her by his brother, George Ross Veazey. Whether it was returned or not is unknown. She was a great sufferer (the nature of her ailment is not recorded in the Duncan Veazey manuscript) for some time and, though every effort was made to arrest the disease, she passed away in her early youth. She is buried in the vault with her grandparents in St Stephen's churchyard.

Sacred to the memory of Thomas B. Veazey, who departed this life March 5th 1844, in the 52nd year of his age, and also his wife, Ann W. Veazey who departed this life Feby 19th 1844/ in the 50th year of her age. also

Belle daughter of W & A. A. Knight, died Jan. 25th 1873 in the 21st year of her age.

Note: This stone is a flat stone low to the ground and contains all of the three inscriptions above mentioned.
