The funeral services for Ardis Berg, 88, of New Richland, formerly of Hartland, will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. Interment will be in the St. Olaf Cemetery. Ardis died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland. Ardis was born in Hartland on Sept. 13, 1912, to Anton and Julia (Nelson) Olson. She attended District # 10 school in Hartland. As a young woman Ardis had worked at the Telephone Company and also lent helping hands to many area farm homes. On Oct. 5, 1937 she married Oscar Berg and she moved into New Richland in 1978. Ardis was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland where she had been active in Altar Guild. Ladies Aid, Mission Circle, and also taught Sunday school. She loved flowers and gardening. She also liked baking, especially Scandinavian specialties, playing cards, bingo, and taking trips with the Senior Center. She is survived by three sons; Gary Berg (Nancy) of Rochester; Gene Berg ( Barbara Frey) of Winona and Niel Berg ( Ranae) of Hartland. Grandchildren: Eric and his wife Emily of Rochester, Brye Berg of Rochester, Evan, Tait, and Kellen Berg of Hartland. A sister, Palma Richardson of New Richland.
