Arthur James Hagerty, third son of John Allen and Elizabeth Hagerty, was born at Darlington, April 2, 1880, and died at Darlington, Sept. 14, 1918. He spent most of his life in this city, was educated in our schools and has a large circle of acquaintances in our midst.
Arthur was never a strong boy physically, and has always suffered the handicap of ill health. But he was a quiet, patient and kind sould who made many friends. For the last seven years his health has appreciably failed and he suffered much. His end was peaceful.
He is survived by his mother, three brothers and one sister, namely: Charles of Redland, Calif., Fred L., Stockton, Ill., and George, Dodgeville, and Mrs. Anna Saunders of Omaha, Nebraska.
The funeral services were conducted at the home of his mother, in the presence of many of his relatives and friends last Monday afternoon, Interment was made in Union Grove Cemetery.
