Arthur Small

Arthur Small was born in 1873 and married Mary Nicholls in 1898. Arthur was a member of the New South Wales Police Force and consequently Arthur and Mary lived in quite a number of homes in the country and suburbs which were attached to various stations where Arthur served. He was very highly regarded in the community as evidenced by an illuminated address which was presented to him in December 1924 being addressed to Inspector Arthur Small. He was also known to have been Superintendent at Albury in charge of The Riverina District. In 1932 he retired at Newcastle being then 1st. Class Superintendent in charge of Northern District.
