Asahel was the son of George Fairbanks and Jerusha Twitchell of Medway, Mass. He was married (intention Medway 10 Jan 1801) to Lydia PARTRIDGE, the daughter of Stephen Partridge and Jemima Taft. Asahel was a Rev. War soldier, serving as a private in Capt Moses Adam's company, Col Elezer Brooke's regiment of guards, serving from 3 Nov 1777 to 3 April 1778, 5 months, with company stationed at Cambridge. He was also a private in Capt Samuel Fisher's company, discharged 12 Sep 1779 after serving 1 month and 2 days. This company was detached from the militia and ordered to four-week duty in RI in Col.
