August LITERSKI, a resident of Portage County 46 years and who for the past five years had made his home at 214 Jordan road, died at 4;15 o'clock Monday afternoon, following an illness which extended over two years. He was born in 1862 in Poland and emigrated to America when he reached the age of 20, coming directly to the town of Stockton, where he was engaged in farming until he retired because of poor health. Since he and his wife moved to Stevens Point the homestead had been operated by one of his sons, Barney LETERSKI.
The body of the deceased is now at the Prais and Boyer funeral home but will be taken to his son's on Wednesday afternoon and to St Mary's church, Fancher, for services on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock when requiem mass will be offered up by Rev F A NOWAK, pastor of St Stanislaus' congregation here, who will substitute for Rev J CHYLINSKI, now on a deer hunting trip. Burial will be had in St Mary's parish cemetery.
Besides the widow, there survive the following daughters and sons; Mrs. Joseph PIOTROWSKI, Stockton, Mrs Ed BEMOWSKI, city; Mrs George STEINER, Milwaukee, Ben LETERSKI, Amherst; Casimir and Barney, Stockton; John, Buena Vista; Mrs John WIZA, Sharon.
