August Olivecrona

HANS AUGUST PAULUS OLIVECRONA

Hans was born 4 August 1806 at Mussvik and during childhood studied at home with brother Carl Adolf. He studied at Uppsala 1820-1822 and then became Ships boy on exercise corvette "Svalan" in 1822. A year later, 1823 he was still on the "Svalan" but he had become a sea cadet.

On 28 November 1855 Hans became a Captain and it was around this time that he had a relationship with Charlotta Löfqvist (we still are not sure that this was her name) and had a son who was named Carl Johan (Born 26 October 1854).

Hans was made R.S.O (Knight of the Order of the Sword) on 28 November 1859 and before he died on died 13 July 1860 at Ems in Germany he asked his bother Knut to look after his natural son Carl.
