Watsonville Register-Parajorian Obituary 25 Oct 1968
August J. Zobel, 85, a native of Minden, Neb., died yesterday at Salinas Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. He had lived in the Watsonville area for the past 48 years where he had been engaged in farming. He was a member of Santa Cruz Farm Bureau. He leaves his wife, Emma, of the family home at 204 Thompson Road; five sons, George Zobel of Watsonville, Dr. Clinton Zobel of Salinas, Dale Zobel of Healdsburg; Melvin Zobel of Woodland and Dr. Bruce Zobel of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a daughter Mrs. Howard Bush.
He also leaves 23 grandchildren, 16 great granchildren, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2pm at White's Memorial Chapel with the Rev Edward Frost of United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Friends who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at White's Memorial Chapel for August J. Zobel with the Rev. Edward J. Frost of the United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial followed in Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers were James, Richard and Robert Zobel, Arthur Bush and Ronald Blevins.

August Zobel - Funeral services were held at White's Memorial Chapel, Watsonville, yesterday for August J. Zobel, 85. He is the father of Dr. Clinton Zobel, Salinas, and died in a hospital here Thursday. Burial was in Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Zobel was a native of Minden, Nebraska. Other survivors include his widow, Emma Zobel, Watsonville; four more sons, George Zobel also of that city; Dale Zobel, Healdsburg; Melvin Zobel, Woodland, and Dr. Bruce Zobel of Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter Mrs. Howard Bush, Redwood City; 23 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
Zobel suffered a long illness. Friends may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
