It is not known for sure where Augustine Hawkins was born. His birth was recorded in the register of the St. James Parish after that church was established in 1692 along with four of his daughters when all were baptized on the same day. There is no vital record proof that Augustine was the son of John Hawkins. He is placed with others of this family because another son of John Hawkins named his son Augustine and it is a very unusual name at this time.

There is no vital record of the marriage between Augustine Hawkins & Susannah Carr. Their names are linked in the birth records of their children. Augustine was deceased by 24 AUG 1700 when an inventory was taken of his estate. He owned some livestock, one horse, a feather bed & furniture (the most valuable item), a looking glass and a Bible. The amount of the inventory was 24.11.0L.[3]
