About B. Srinivasa Rao
Bangalore Srinivasa Rao was the Headmaster of several Anglo-Vernacular schools in the State of Mysore. He encouraged his 5 sons to excel at education as well as sports. His oldest son, Gopalakrishna Rao was a Railway Guard in the Mysore Railways. His second son, B. S. Bheema Rao was a Chemistry Professor at the Mysore University. His third son, B. S. Madhava Rao was perhaps the most brilliant of the sons. Madhava Rao secured his D.Sc., from the Calcutta University, taught Pure and Applied Mathematics at Mysore University, ultimately retiring as the Principal of Central College. Madhava Rao worked with eminent Nobel laureates of his time such as C. V. Raman and Max Born and published many papers on Applied Mathematics and Particle Physics. The fourth son, B. S. Nagesha Rao rose to the position of Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department of the Govt. of Mysore. The fifth and last son, B. S. Venkata Rao, was a successful Engineer.
