Death of Mrs. Jos. Meinhart

Mrs. Joseph Meinhart of Island Grove died at St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham last Saturday. On the 19th of April she underwent an operation for gall stones and was recovering nicely from the effects of the operation, but she was suddenly effected with paralysis of the stomach last Saturday dying shortly afterwards. The deceased was a good Christian lady and was very popular with a large circle of acquaintances at the Grove. She will be greatly missed as a neighbor and friend by all.

Mrs. Joseph Meinhart was born 56 years ago last October. She grew to womenhood at the Grove and 36 years ago was united in marriage to Joseph Meinhart. She was a daughter of Joseph Mammoser and wife. She was the mother of twelve children, four of whom survive her as follows: Joseph, Mrs. Theresia Cohorst, Tillie and Marten, the last two unmarried and living at home. Her husband preceded her to the grave four years ago the 20th of last August. She had been a sufferer for some time with gallstones and as above stated underwent a successful operation for the same. Her death came as a surprise to her many friends. The funeral took place last Monday morning from the Island Grove Catholic church and was largely attended.
