MRS. JOSEPH COHORST PASSED AWAY LAST THURSDAY

Funeral held Saturday Morning at Grove and was Largely Attended

Mrs. Jos. Cohorst died Thursday morning, November 6, 1930 at Island Grove, Jasper County, Ill.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Church, Island Grove, Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock, November 8, followed by burial in parish Cemetery. The obsequies were largely attended by relatives, neighbors and friends. In fact it was the largest funeral ever held at Island Grove. Rev. George Nell, pastor of the parish, officiated.

Deceased was the daughter of Jos. Meinhart who came from Austria and Barbara Mammoser of Matteson, Ill. The family afterwards moved to Island Grove. Mrs. Cohorst was born there April 21st, 1878 receiving the name of Theresia Maria in Baptism.

Grownup to womanhood she was married to Joseph Cohorst, September 27, 1904. The union was blessed with seven children: Florent, Clara, Agnes, Lucia, Leonard, Magdalen and Marie all at home, who with the husband sadly bemoan a loving mother and affectionate help-mate.

Deceased is furthermore survived by two brothers: Joseph Meinhart and Martin Meinhart and one sister, Mrs. Ben Cohorst all of Island Grove community.

Attained age at death 52 years, 6 months and 16 days.

MRS JOS COHORST DIED OF LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. Joe Cohorst, nee Meinhart, died at the family home near St Joseph's Catholic Church of Island Grove, last night after a lingering affliction.

The deceased was a noble mother and wife, and a Christian woman. She is survived besides her devoted husband by two sons, Lawrence and Leonard; 5 daughters, Clara, Agnes, Lucy, Magdeline and Marie; other relatives and a host of friends whom, we join in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mrs. Cohorst was 52 years old, and had the best of care at the hands of her devoted daughters all through her long illness.
