Barnabas Meacham

• He was a volunteer for an emergency service 1757 and saw active

service in the Revolutionary War. He was a Corporal in Captain

Wadsworth's Company of Hartford; Col. Cook's regiment and took part

in the battle of Stillwater and Saratoga. Military records for

Connecticut also show that both senior and junior served in Captain

Forward's Co., 18th Reg. Militia at New York.

Barnabas Meacham was the son of Ebenezer and Mary (Adams) Meacham.

He was the husband of Margaret (Owen) Beacham. Margaret died July 4, 1825.

Barnabas was a private in Capt. Joseph Forward's Company,

stationed at New York in 1776.
