About Beatrice Coningsby

Will of Beatrix CONYNOSBY, of Kinges Lynn, co. Norfolk, widow of William Conyngsby, esquier, late one of the Kinges Justices at plees before him to be holden, dated 8 October, 1541. I bequeath my body to be buried in the chapel of St. Nicholas of Lynne aforesaid, nigh to the sepulchre of my said late husband. I give to the reparations of the said chapel 13s. 4d. There shall be distributed at my burial thirty day and my year day £20 in money at the discretion of my executor. I give to my son Christopher Conyngsby a gilt pot within a cover, having the portcullis wrought upon them. To my daughter Allington, my lesser chain of gold. To my son Allington, a gilt cup within a cover.

To my daughter Allington’s eldest daughter, my lesser silver beads. To my daughter Elizabeth Fereby and her husband, £20 in money, upon condition that her said husband, Thomas Fereby, shall make and deliver a state or feoffment of so much of his lands as shall amount to the yearly value of 40 marks, for my daughter, his wife’s jointure, as the said Thomas covenanted and agreed to and with my late husband aforesaid, as it appeareth by indenture dated 4 November 18 Henry VIII. Otherwise the said £20 small be disposed in deeds of charity. I will that Betrix Hawle shall have one of my gowns and 20s. I give to Richard Wynter, my servant, 40s. To Margaret Lanam, my maid servant, 20s. My daughter Beatrix Water shall have all my apparel. I give to William Water, son of Thomas Water, my little pair of salts. To his brother Edward my gilt pot with the cover. To Elizabeth Water, their sister, the best nest of goblets with the cover, and a dozen of silver spoons with the apostles upon them. To her sister Betrix Water, my best girdle and my litle cup. All the residue of my goods I give to Thomas Water my son-in-law, whom I make my executor, to see this my will and the last will of my said husband fulfilled and performed.
