I Benjamin Barnes now in the county Davidson and state of Tennessee do make and confirm this and no other my last will and testament as follows. First I desire my body to be buried in a decent manuer and my burying expences to be paid out of my estate. I leave my wife Rebekah Baysmare (named Cato?) two beds and furniture and chest and dresser furniture and one side saddle and bridle, three cows and calves, her choice of my stock, and as many hogs as will be necessary for her meat this year, and my plow and gear to be left for her use and corn and fodder as much will necessary for stock this winter. I leave to oldest son James Barnes Two dollars. My second son Benjamin Barnes (illegible) and daughter Polley Barnes, daughter of Benjamin Barnes Jr. One cow and calf. Next choice of my stock my son Jessee Barnes One bay horse colt of my mare , two (?). To my son Henry Barnes, Two Dollars. To my son John Barnes, one cow and calf and all my shop tools. To my daughter Polley Nowlen, Two Dollars. To my daughter Charity Williams, Two Dollars. To my daughter Edith one sorrel colt one year old past named Jonathan. To my daughter Elizabeth Wolf, one sorrel mare two year old past with spotted back. And I will River Jourdan one third of my corn and fodder. I will that my property not mentioned in this my will be sold and the money after paying my debts and burial expences to my wife Rebekah.
