It has been reported that Benjamin Ellis, a Revolutionary War Veteran is buried Kirkwood Cemetery Indiana:Once known as the Old Bentonville Cemetery. Many stones had been piled up there, all that remains today are two stones. It is believed that the location of the two remaining stones are set as a memorial, and the actual cemetery sits further back on the knoll in a cornfield). Benjamin enlisted May 3, 1775 and served 9 months as Pvt. under Capt. Simeon Hazeltine's Company and then with Col. Ward, Massachusetts Troops for one month. Pension claim S16107 Married three times, 11 children. 1st wife: Ruth Pike 2nd wife: Lois Mann 3rd wife: Zilpha Mills - no children were born to this union.
