About Benjamin Singletary
From "The Singletary Family History" by Yvonne Miller Brunton: Benjamin Singletary was born prior to 1795 in NC. He died between 1830 and 1847 in Bladen County, NC. In 1847, Winney and the daughters sold 400 acres left them in Bladen County by Benjamin, son of Richard. They are shown in the Cumberland County census of 1840 and 1850. The daughters visited Elizabeth Ellis Robeson regularly as recounted in her diary. Benjamin sold the dower lands of his mother in 1815 before she died. Benjamin left lands SW of the Cape Fear River adjacent to James S. Dunham "on the upper side of the river, formerly Young's corner, to a cypress on the river bank".
