Benjamin Watts was born ca 1749, North Carolina, died ca 1786, Chatham Co NC. He is seen as son of Thomas Watts and Elizabeth Harrington.

Benjamin Watts and Frances had children:

  1. Elizabeth (b ca 1769 NC, married Jacob McDaniel ca 1784-5 NC, died aft 1840 in Arkansas);
  2. Mary (born 14 July 1770, married Frederick Siler son of Plikard D. Siler and Elizabeth Hartzoe, Mary died 10 Oct 1856 Tipton TN);
  3. Frances (b ca 1774, married John Emassy Beck, died 1 Sept 1841 Benton Co MS);
  4. Rebecca Watts, (b ca 1841, married John McDaniel); Comment: more verification that this Rebecca Watts (born abt 1767) was a child of this Benjamin Watts and Frances Teague. If she is, then she is probably the one who married John McDaniel (b. 10/25/1765 - and had Cherokee heritae) on 12/10/1783. Rebecca would have been John's 2nd wife.
  5. Nancy b ca 1778, married Aaron Aldridge, died aft 1845);
  6. Jane (b ca 1780, married Samuel Stewart Jr.)

Frances "Frankey" Teague, widow of Benjamin Watts, married Samuel McDaniel (said to be son of John McDaniel and Katherine -), Sept 25, 1786, Randoph Co., NC. She is shown as Franky Wats on her marriage certificate with Samuel McDaniel. A bond was signed by Samuel McDaniel to become guardian of the minor children of Benjamin Watts.
