Benjamin White was born on 12 October 1684 in Marshfield, Plymouth Colony, the son of Daniel and Hannah (Hunt) White.[1][2][3]
He was married to Faith Oakman on 02 December 1714 in Marshfield by Rev. James Gardner.[4][5][6][7] She was the daughter of Tobias and Elizabeth (Doty) Oakman, born Marshfield 15 May 1697,[8] and a descendant of Pilgrim Edward Doty.[3]
Benjamin died in Marshfield on 12 May 1724 at age 39 and was buried in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.[9][10][11] Faith was appointed administration on her husband's estate on 07 July 1724. [12][13][14] She rendered her account on his estate on 17 June 1741 as Faith Foster. The account mentions support of Benjamin's children and lying-in with her son Benjamin, born after his father was deceased, and support for Jedidah and Lydia.[15]
Faith married, as her second husband, Thomas Foster about 1734. With him she had Thomas and Deborah. The will of Tobias Oakman of Marshfield, dated 21 March 1745 and proved 26 July 1750, names his daughter Faith Foster. [16][17]
Faith died in Marshfield on 26 December 1758 aged 61 years, 6 months, "wife of Thomas Foster."[18]

Research notes
Previous versions of this profile included incorrect data by confusing the son of Daniel and Hannah (Hunt) White with Benjamin, son of Ebenezer White who was also born in 1684, but lived in Weymouth and Middlesboro, and married Priscilla Underwood.
