B.M. lived his whole life in Udolpho Township. He farmed until 1976 and was active in Red Oak Grove Lutheran church and community affairs. He was also an artist and a family historian, having published a book titled, "From the Land of the Midnight Sun to the Fertile Prairie of Minnesota," in 1972.
He and his wife, the former Arthina Kruger, had nine children.
