Berlie Carrillo

Funeral services for Berlie Warren Carrillo, 86, of Vian are being held at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Church in Vian with the Rev. Jean Rozell officiating. Burial is in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

Mrs. Carrillo was born on March 5, 1923, in Vian to Peter Joshua Warren and Ola Frances Muncy. She died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, in Vian. She was a foster grandparent for Vian Schools and attended Christ the King Church. She married Felix Baca Carrillo on March 22, 1956, in San Bernadino, Calif.

Survivors include her husband, Felix of the home; two daughters, Deborah Sheilds of Yerma, Calif. and Denise Mitchell of Pendleton, Ore.; two sons, Meliton Warren Carrillo of Sugarland, Texas and Gale Smithson of Silver Springs, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Warren of Gore; two sisters, Mary Pack of Blackgum and Doris McGrew of Venitian, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Calvin Smithson, one daughter, Sandra Chavez, one grandson, Felix Traster, seven sisters, Cora Lee McElhaney, Edna Johnson, Helen Childers, Vera Mills, Thelma Bennett, Mandy Jordan, Margaret Plunket and Katherine Prince and three brothers, Hoover, J.T. and Wallace Warren.

Pallbearers are Douglas Smithson, Barry Shane Hazzlett, Jim Walker, Rabbit Hart, William Dickson and Fred Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are Gayle Smithson and Mel Carrillo.

Berlie Warren Carrillo was born March 5, 1923 in Vian, Oklahoma, the daughter of Peter Joshua Warren and Ola Frances (Muncy) Warren. She married Felix Baca Carrillo on March 22, 1956 in San Bernadino, California. Mrs. Carrillo passed this life on January 22, 2010 in Vian, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 86 years, 10 months and 17 days.
