Bert Greenwood

Bert was anvilled out of army after a horrific accident, in training, on Salisbury plain. Bert was a dispatch rider and a young tank officer ordered the turret to be turned to one side hitting Bert and knocking him off his motor cycle, under the tank tracks and ripping off one leg and causing major damage to other leg which caused problems all his life. I am almost positive he was 21 yrs old when this happened. On John's birth certificate Oct 1947 lived at 129 Holly Road, Aldershot, Hants and Bert's profession as Tool Grinder (Lesley - known as Jane Tompkins).
