Bertha V. Walsh, 91, formerly of 522 Eccles Road, Kennedy, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2013), in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Falconer, N.Y., the daughter of William D. and Lula E. Allen. Bertha attended James-town schools, and had worked at Jamestown Com-munity College as a custodian. In earlier years, she worked at Klings Furniture. She was a member of the Frewsburg American Legion Auxiliary and the War Vets. She was an avid bowler, and she loved animals. She also sang and played guitar with a country and western band. Her favorite times were those spent at family picnics and gatherings. Surviving are two sons: Patrick (Frances) Walsh of Jamestown, and Thomas (Marcia) Walsh of Kennedy; a daughter, Mary (Gary) Marowski of West Ellicott; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Phillip Allen of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Alonzo Allen of Pocatello, Idaho; and two sisters: Audrey Crawford of Jamestown, and Naomi Rhinehart of Holly, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Walsh, whom she married Feb. 9, 1940, and who died April 2, 2002; a daughter, Loretta Seekins; a son-in-law, Frank Seekins; and four brothers: Ethan, William, Earl and Elmer Allen.
