Her gravestone is inscribed both, Babetta and פעז It may have been pronounced Pes, Pess, Bes or Bess as Bavarians have their own pronouciation of the letter P and B, S and Z. Her Hebrew name was actually Pesia פסיה This is what my mother Betty Katz told me. My mother, the granddaughter of Pes knew Pes very well for 21 years and was her neighbour. Shmuel Katz.
