OBITUARY : MRS. BESSIE M. EBERLY, 85, widow of E. Lesher Eberly, died suddenly at 6 a.m. Sunday at her home on Waynesboro R.D. 4. She had been in failing health for a number of years suffering with a heart condition.

Mrs. Eberly was born December 12, 1882, daughter of the late David and Annie Martin Creager. All of her life had been lived in the Rouzerville area.

She and Mr. Eberly were married in 1900. She had made her home on the Waterloo Road for 56 years. Her husband died in January, 1941.

She was a member of the Rouzerville Methodist Church and had taught in the Sunday School for a number of years. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Society of the church.

Mrs. Eberly is survived by the following children: Miss Anna Eberly, at home; Mrs. Mary Stahl, York; Herbert Eberly and Eldon Eberly, both of Waynesboro R.D. 4; Mrs. Nellie Montgomery and Norman L. Eberly, both of Rouzerville; Crawford Eberly, mont Alto, and Robert Eberly, Zullinger.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. William G. Groshon, Waynesboro R.D. 4.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Rouzerville Methodist Church in charge of the Rev. Carl Peterson. Burial will be in Harbaugh's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Grove Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church prior to the service on Wednesday.
