Betty Jane Sontag

Betty Sontag, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Union Hospital. She was born on December 19, 1937, in Marion County, Indiana to the late Raymond and Ruth Talbott.

As a 1958 graduate of Indiana State Teaching College, she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. In 1989, she received her Master’s Degree.

Betty was a special education teacher and a real estate broker. She shared her love of music with Sweet Harmony and Berean Baptist Church. She also loved playing Euchre and going out with “The Gang.” She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Talbott and Birgle “Buck” Talbott.

Betty is survived by her children, Mike (Kim) Sontag, Kathy (Jeff) Scherrer, and Jeff (Rebecca) Sontag; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Susie (Bill) Bogigian; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Talbott; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of life will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21 at Berean Baptist Church. Betty will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park with a private graveside service.
