Bishop Hans Lehman b. ca. 1702, Canton Bern, Switzerland.

In 1727 Hans & Anna sailed with 3 children from Rotterdam, Holland aboard ship James Goodwill and landed in Philadelphia, PA.They settled in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, PA. Hans bought 197 acres of land northwest of Manheim, between present day Colebrook Street and Hernley.

Hans was a minister & bishop in Hernley Mennonite Church. This cemetery, where three generations of Lehmans are buried, has since been obliterated and the tombstones laid down so it can be plowed over.(Daniel R.
