About Bradley Hemmingway Thompson
OBITUARY:Det Free Press 26 Sep 1879, 1819-1879 Death of Bradley Thompson. Bradley Thompson for many years a well known citizen of Detroit, died Wednesday nite in the asylum for insane at Pontiac, where, and at Kalamazoo, he had spent the last two or three yrs. hopelessly insane. Mr. Thompson came to Detroit in 1824, then a child of 5 yrs. Afterward his father, Daniel Thompson was sheriff. A few years ago he filled a like position under the administration of John Patton. He was a member of the Brady Guards, and during his long residence here he was a popular and well esteemed citizen. He was 61 yrs old at the time of his death. His family were with him in his last hours, and it is believed that he recognized them and realized that death had come to release him from his bondage.
