About Bridget Boutwell
Apr. 26,, 1759:: Named after her mother,, Bridgett is born in Wilmington,, Massachusetts. She is the 1rst of 10 children born to Samuel Pearson and Bridgett Gray,, 3 boys and 7 girls. Some time after this,, but prior to 1861,, the family locates to Windsor,, Vermont where 8 of their next 9 children are born.
May 25,, 1779:: Bridgett Pearson,, A20,, marries Asa Boutwell,, A19,, at Lyndeborough,, New Hampshire,, Asas’ home town. Celebrant is Reverend Sewell Goodridge. Bridgett is listed as residing at the Duxbury School Farm. This is located just outside Milford,, New Hampshire,, in proximity to Lyndeborough. Duxbury Farm happens to be the home of her fathers’ brother,, Ebenezer Pearson,, who purchased the property in 1762.
Bridgett has possibly been in residence here as early as 1776,, helping with the household chores and her younger cousins,, Ebenezer,, A09 and Ezekiel,, A07. The boys mother,, her Aunt Mary (Thompson),, passes in 1777 so Uncle Ebenezer would have been in need of family support at this time. Bridgett would have been 17 yrs. at that time. She and husband Asa go on to have 9 children of their own,, 7 boys and 2 girls.
Aug.,, ,, 1820:: Husband Asa dies in Montpelier,, Washington,, Vermont at the age of 59 yrs.
Feb. 09,, 1825:: Bridgett dies in Barre City,, Washington,, Vermont at the age of 65 yrs. There is no burial information for them at this time.
