The Barnes-Oxford Research Foundation is currently trying to determine how many Brinsley Barnes's descend from Baines, Sr. (1713-1794) [Barnes-145]. It is this Brinsley who remained in North Carolina where he died. See an article by John LaRue regarding the settling of his estate complete with many original Wikes County, NC Court document https://competitivestrategies.us/how-many-brinsleys/). Fifteen may be found in the copyrighted article by Gail Lindeman How Many Brinsley’s? on the Foundation's website. Brinsley II paid a Fayette County, Kentucky Poll tax in 1792 and his son Brisley III aka Brinsley of Rush was born in North Carolina in 1784 lived in Kentucky earlier.
