Brief overview:

Bruno (66), was shot at close range four times on his smallholding in Kameeldrift around 17h30 on 20th July 2011, when he and his wife, Alexis (55), were attacked by a gang of five males wearing balaclavas.

Bruno opened the front door when the doorbell rang and was overpowered by the armed men. He was held at gunpoint, while one of the perpetrators went to the bathroom where Alexis was bathing. She was ordered to get dressed. Bruno attempted to use his firearm, and he was shot in the chest and arm. Paramedics attempted to save him for over an hour, but he passed at the scene in the couple's bedroom.
