C. Conrad Blackburn, age 71, loving husband for 43 years of the late Judy Burnett Blackburn, passed away on July 8th, 2015 surrounding by his family in Peoria, Arizona. He was born on May 10th, 1944 in Quincy, Illinois to Clyde Conrad Blackburn Sr. and Ann Isabelle Clark Blackburn.
Conrad grew up in Edwardsville, Illinois and graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1962. After high school he served his country with honor in the United States Army. An active member in his community, Conrad was a member of the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois and also a member of the American Legion, both for 43 years. Conrad retired to Arizona in 1994 after many successful years of business ownership in both Ursa and Quincy, Illinois.
Conrad was preceded in death by his wife Judy Burnett Blackburn and parents Clyde Conrad Blackburn Sr. and Ann Isabelle Clark Blackburn.
Conrad is survived by his significant other and best friend Laura Jo Minner Larrabee of Peoria, Arizona; daughters Amy (Mitch) Monson, of Bedford, Texas and Melissa (Glenn) Kunsman of Kingman, Arizona; his sister Candace (Frank) DeMeuse of Lahaina, Hawaii; proud grandfather to grandchildren Adam Wemhoner, Abbey Jones, Kayla Kunsman, Lauren Kunsman; his great-grandson Mason Jones; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of a graveside service, Conrad requested a memorial service to be held at the American Legion Post #435 in Glen Carbon, Illinois. Friends and family will be contacted with details once arrangements have been made.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the American Legion Post #435 of Glen Carbon, Illinois.
