Per early McFadden history, Alexander was a minuteman during the early part of the Revolutionary War. He fought with his brothers at Fort McFadden in Rutherford County, NC and was promoted to the rank of Captain. His wife Mary Twitty was his neighborhood sweetheart. They remained in Rutherford County.
