About Capt. Anson Avery
He was made ensign, 9th company, 8th reg't, 1810; captain, Aug. 22, 1811 (Ms. State Papers, Hartford, Conn.). He served through the war of 1812. (Conn. Men in the War of 1812, page 7). He was representative to the Conn. Assembly in 1836 and 1837; selectman of Ledyard; a Democrat in politics.
