Hon. Robert Arthur Ward

• Born on 23 February 1871.
• Son of William Ward, 1st Earl of Dudley and Georgina Elisabeth Moncreiffe.
• Married Lady Mary Acheson, daughter of Archibald Brabazon Sparrow Acheson, 4th Earl of Gosford and Lady Louisa Augusta Beatrice Montagu, on 24 July 1906.
• Died on 14 June 1942 at age 71.
• Lieutenant in the service of the Worcestershire Imperial Yeomanry.
• Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Crewe between 1895 and 1900.
• Fought in the Matabeleland Campaign in 1896.
• Fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.
• Fought in the First World War, where he was twice mentioned in despatches.
• Decorated with the award of the Legion of Honour.
